Chompin' At the Bit - Company Message

The Chompin' At the Bit String Band consists of 4 bold and
eager musicians from the Western North Carolina Mountains.
After years of going out and exploring different musical genres
such as Punk, Rock -n- Roll, Bluegrass,Honky-Tonk, Jazz, and even Country, these musicians settled back into the style they grew up with.

"I tried to fight for years, telling my parents I was a punk rocker
and didn't want anything to do with their old time music, but
something about it kept drawing me back. Now I can't get
enough" - Lindsey Liden

This group of musicians, located in Asheville, NC, respectfully tip their collective hat to the greats as well as add there own rowdy, unconventional style. One thing is for sure, there is no denying their energy, drive and genuine love for this music....it only takes a minute before you can feel it too.

The boys have played numerous venues around western North
Carolina such as The Grey Eagle and Jack of the Wood of Asheville,
the John C. Campbell Folk School of Brasstown, and the Town
Pump Tavern, the Pisgah Brewery, and Straightaway Cafe of Black Mountain. They also made a successful tour of the northeast through venues in Virginia, New York, and Pennsylvania. The boys have
shared the stage with the likes of The Freight Hoppers, Wayne Erbsen,
Jon Herman, and other such impressive musicians. They have also
been featured live on local radio station programming such as
WCQS 88.1 FM of Asheville, WNCW 88.7 FM of Spindale,
WSQL 1240 AM of Brevard, and the King Pup Radio Show of Tryon.

"These young musicians are bursting with raw energy, breathing
new life into the century old Appalachian string band tradition".
(Bob Dalsemer, Coordinator, Music and Dance Programs
John C. Campbell Folk School, NC)

After the 2010 release of their debut album, Last Call, the boys are itching to start on the next one. Look for it in the Spring of 2012!
